Welcome to our website!  We are St. Peter the Apostle Parish located in Southern Garrett County.  We are One Parish with Two Locations. One location, St. Peter the Apostle Church, is in Oakland, and we also worship at St. Peter at the Lake Center located in McHenry, Maryland.  We are a vibrant Catholic Community serving the needs of our residents and visitors who have discovered the mountains, the lakes, and the beauty of Western Maryland.

Our parish is over 150 years old and has a long history of serving the people of this area.   We are currently adding to that history and, hopefully, people 150 years from now will look back and see the great work that has been done to spread God's word in this part of his kingdom.

If you have relocated to our area, please register with our parish office as soon as you get settled.   We are anxious to get to know you and your family and have you join us in doing God's work.

If you are visiting or planning to visit the area, we are happy to offer you our "mountain" hospitality.  We have many wonderful vacationers and "regular" visitors who help us in many ways and in many of our parish ministries.  We are extremely grateful for their help.
